Heliocentrics: „Out There“

Am 25. September kommt der lang erwartete Longplayer „Out There“ der Heliocentrics heraus. Vier Jahre hat Malcolm Catto mit seinen befreundeten Musikern gebraucht, um das Doppelalbum aufzunehmen. Da Catto selbst ein begnadeter Funk-Drummer ist (gebucht für Aufnahmen von Madlib, Yesterdays New Quintet), spielt er bei den Aufnahmen folgerichtig auch selbst Schlagzeug; so konnte Max Weissenfeldt von den Poets Of Rhythm das Vibraphon bedienen. Die Band, die hier zusammengekommen ist, war auch für eine andere großartige Aufnahme verantwortlich, nämlich für „This Time“ von Dj Shadow (ich berichtete). Aus der Promo:
